Why do geologists sort and classify rocks?
Here are some of our ideas.
- You can learn about different features
- You can discover different uses for the rock
- It can help us identifying different kinds of rock
- Tells us the story of the rock and where it came from
- Gives us clues about the land
We also watched a video to learn about the 3 main types of rock, this we help us when we try and identify the rocks we collected.
Shi Shi Etko
In preparation for Orange Shirt Day on Friday we read the story Shi Shi Etko by Nicola M. Campbell. This story is about a little girl in British Columbia counting down her last days before going away to residential school.
