Think like an Architect
Students have begun thinking like an architect.
Students were tasked with looking at the regions (Rainforest, desert, coastline, Andes mountains) of Peru and thinking about the impact of building a structure would have in that area. What do we need to consider?
Students were tasked with looking at the regions (Rainforest, desert, coastline, Andes mountains) of Peru and thinking about the impact of building a structure would have in that area. What do we need to consider?
- What is the weather in that area?
- What animals live there?
- If we had to cut down trees, how would that impact the animals?
- If I am building near the coastline, how far does the tide come in?
- What types of natural disaters are in that area?
Through the lens of an architect, students are beginning to understand the complexities that go into designing a building/structure for a particular area. Our next steps are to continue learning about the culture of Peru as well as fundamentals in building and design.
